DefectHyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain Mobis tow hitch harnesses with part number CWF61-AU100. The wiring harness may have been installed incorrectly, allowing water into the control module. Moisture accumulation may cause the trailer lighting to fail or an electrical short circuit._x000D_ Nonfunctioning trailer lights can increase the risk of a crash. A short circuit can increase the risk of a fire.
RemedyOwners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will replace the trailer wiring harness, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed February 16, 2026. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 291.
