Hazard descriptionThe lid can shrink when exposed to heat and torque, causing the lid to detach during use. Risk of burns if the lid detaches while the cup contains hot liquid. Several incidents have occurred worldwide including a number of injuries requiring medical attention.
RemedyStop using the affected mugs immediately. Stanley 1913 will provide a free replacement lid. Replacement lids are expected to become available in early 2025.
