Hazard descriptionIn the importer’s similar models of kettle, SCCPs were found in the components ‘black plastic (plug)’ and ‘black plastic (cable sheathing)’. The importer cannot rule out this product also containing a level of SCCPs that exceeds the limit value. The product has an excessive concentration of short chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs) (measured value up to 0.34 % by weight). SCCPs persist in the environment, are toxic to aquatic organisms at low concentrations and bio-accumulate in wildlife and humans, posing a risk to human health and the environment.
