Hazard descriptionCanyon Bicycle (hereinafter “Canyon”) has become aware that there is a low probability that the Speedmax CF model equipped with the V21 Aerostem may experience cracks or fractures in the fork steerer tube, potentially leading to the detachment of the cockpit assembly (stem and handlebars). Investigations have shown that this primarily occurs under significant impact, such as from potholes or other environments where similar stress can occur. Depending on the circumstances and the rider's environmental conditions, there is a risk of the rider falling or, in severe cases, sustaining injuries.
RemedyCustomers who purchased the bicycle should bring the affected bicycle to a professional repair shop in their area, following the instructions in the email individually sent by Canyon. Canyon will cover the full cost of the repair. The repair details are as follows: If there is no damage to the steerer tube, an aluminum sleeve will be bonded to reinforce the area; if damage is found, the entire steerer tube will be replaced.
