Hazard descriptionAn increased risk of electrical short circuit has been identified in a small number of batteries installed in some Santa Cruz Heckler 9 electric bicycles. This increased risk of electrical short circuit can lead to a fire hazard.
Remedy1. Consumers should immediately stop using the affected product and disconnect the battery from the electric bicycle and charger. 2. Consumers should check if the battery of their bicycle is subject to this recall via the Santa Cruz recall webpage provided below. If the battery is subject to the recall, consumers must register on the webpage to receive a replacement battery later. If the battery is not subject to the recall, consumers may continue to use their electric bicycle.
