Extension Lead supplied with Costway Abraar Desk was recalled in United Kingdom on 2025-01-30 due to fire. A black extension lead with two 13A socket outlets, 2 USB outlets and a 5A plug for the mains. The extension is only available when supplied with the Costway Abraar desk. The safety issue identified affects the extension lead only, and not the desk.

Hazard descriptionThe extension lead presents a risk of fire as it has been identified that some batches have been supplied with the incorrect plug type. This could cause the lead to overheat, damage the socket and over time, could result in a fire.

RemedyThe product has been recalled from end users. Consumers in possession of the extension lead should unplug and dispose of it immediately. The desk itself is not affected and can be used as normal. Once disposed of consumers should contact Costway on 01473 550500 or email cs.uk@costway.com to receive a free replacement extension. Alternatively, consumers can contact their place of purchase. Affected products were sold via Temu, Amazon, eBay, The Range, Wayfair, B&Q Marketplace and Debenhams.
