As a result, components of the trailer’s metal chassis may detach from the tow vehicle. If components of the trailer’s metal chassis detach from the tow vehicle, it may increase the risk of an accident, causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants, bystanders, or other road users. |
| Remedy | Owners of affected trailers will be contacted in writing with instructions to perform a visual inspection. They will then be asked to schedule an appointment for a professional inspection, during which the trailer will be either repaired or replaced free of charge. |
