| Defect | Due to a manufacturing defect, under certain conditions the engine valve springs may crack. If this occurs, the engine could stall resulting in a loss of motive power. A loss of motive power whilst driving could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users. |
| Remedy | Owners of affected vehicles can contact their nearest authorised Hyundai dealer to schedule an appointment to have the sub-engine assembly replaced, free of charge. |
