DefectThe fuel hose may have been installed incorrectly and may come into contact with the engine oil level dipstick mounting bracket. As a result, fuel may leak from the damaged hose, and, in the presence of an external ignition source result in a vehicle fire. A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users or bystanders and/or damage to property.
RemedyOwners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Mazda Australia in writing to schedule an appointment to have the fuel hose inspected and replaced, free of charge.
