| Defect | Due to a software issue with the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM), the brake fluid warning light may not illuminate as intended and therefore fail to warn the driver when the brake fluid level is low. As a result, insufficient brake fluid could lead to a reduction in braking performance. A reduction in braking performance could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users. |
| Remedy | Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by General Motors Australia and New Zealand Pty Ltd in writing requesting they contact their local dealer to have the the EBCM software updated, free of charge. |
