| Defect | Due to a manufacturing issue, the high voltage battery safety plug may become loose, resulting in poor terminal contact. If this occurs, the vehicle may experience a loss of motive power, and the driver may be unable to restart the engine. A sudden loss of motive power whilst driving increases the risk of an accident, causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users. |
| Remedy | Owners of affected vehicles should immediately contact their preferred Kia dealer to schedule an appointment to have the safety plug replaced, free of charge. |
