DefectDue to a manufacturing issue, the high voltage battery safety plug may become loose, resulting in poor terminal contact. If this occurs, the vehicle may experience a loss of motive power, and the driver may be unable to restart the engine. A sudden loss of motive power whilst driving increases the risk of an accident, causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.
RemedyOwners of affected vehicles should immediately contact their preferred Kia dealer to schedule an appointment to have the safety plug replaced, free of charge.
