| Defect | Due to a manufacturing defect, the wiring harness near the 12-volt battery may have been incorrectly assembled. As a result, the harness retaining nut can become loose and increase electrical resistance which may lead to a vehicle fire. A vehicle fire could increase the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users, bystanders and/or damage to property. |
| Remedy | Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Nissan Australia asking them to schedule an appointment with their local dealership to have their wiring harness connections tightened to the correct specifications, free of charge. |
