| Defect | Due to a manufacturing defect within the battery isolation switch sourced from an external supplier it could be susceptible to water ingress. An unexpected loss of power to the complete vehicle at any time without warning resulting in loss of crucial vehicle electrical and safety systems. This increases the risk of an accident-causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users. |
| Remedy | Volvo Group Australia advises its customers that the trucks should immediately be driven back to a safe location and await recall instructions. The trucks can be driven to the nearest authorised workshop for repairs. Driving must only be done during daylight, and the trucks should not be used to transport cargo under any circumstances. |
