| Defect | Due to a manufacturing defect, the transmission main valve body may not meet engineering specifications. As a result, when the gear selector is placed into the reverse position the vehicle may fail to reverse and/or move forward inadvertently when placed into reverse or neutral position._x000D_ Note: The Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) and Wrench light will illuminate when the malfunction occurs. If the vehicle fails to reverse and/or moves forward inadvertently, this could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants, bystanders and other road users. |
| Remedy | Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Ford Motor Company Australia asking them to schedule an appointment to have the vehicle inspected and work carried out, free of charge. |
