| Defect | Due to a manufacturing defect, the mounting bolts connecting the camshaft retainer plate may not be sufficiently tightened. As a result, the camshaft retainer plate could become loose causing the engine to stall and fail to restart. A loss of motive power whilst riding could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to the rider and/or passenger, or other road users. |
| Remedy | Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Yamaha requesting them to schedule an appointment with their local dealership to have the work carried out, free of charge. |
