| Defect | Due to a manufacturing defect, the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) module may disable the Electronic Stability Control (ESC). If this occurs, the ESC may fail without warning resulting in a loss of vehicle control. This may also result in the seatbelt pretensioners and airbags not performing as intended in the event of an accident. A loss of vehicle control and/or airbags and seatbelt pretensioners not deploying as intended in the event of an accident could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants. |
| Remedy | Owners of affected vehicles should contact their nearest authorised RAM dealer to have the vehicle inspected and if necessary, update the ORC module, free of charge. |
