DefectDue to a manufacturing defect, the ball pins in the steering rod assembly may not have been properly hardened, reducing durability. This can cause the pins to fracture and separate from the axle steering knuckles resulting in a loss of steering control whilst driving. A sudden loss of steering control whilst driving could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.
RemedyThe affected components are B2B products for aftermarket fitment to certain busses and heavy commercial vehicles. ZF asked its B2B distribution customers to inform their B2B distribution customers down the supply chain about the recall to ensure that owners of affected vehicles will be contacted and are asked to arrange with their nearest authorised dealer to have their vehicle inspected and the work carried out, free of charge._x000D_ Part Number LF:35646 01
