DefectDuring the vehicle manufacturing process, the connecting bolt between the 48V starter generator and the battery positive cable may not have been tightened to the specified torque. This can lead to increased contact resistance at the connection point between the 48V starter generator and the positive cable. In such cases, localized overheating may occur at this connection point, potentially causing the engine to shut down while driving or leading to a fire. This recall addresses this possibility.
ComponentOther Electrical System Components
RemedyInspect the tightening condition of the 48V starter generator bolt connection. If it is not tightened to the specified torque, tighten it accordingly. If soot is present at the wiring connection point, replace the 48V starter generator and the battery positive cable.
