DefectDue to a program setting error in the Hybrid Control Processor (HCP), in certain situations, the HCP may misinterpret a signal sent by the High Voltage Battery Control Module (BPCM) to the HCP as a thermal runaway event of the high voltage battery. In such a case, the HCP may command a reset of the BPCM, thereby cutting off electric propulsion. A recall is being initiated as it has been confirmed that if drive power is lost due to such a cutoff of electric propulsion, it could lead to a vehicle collision.
