DefectDue to a production quality issue with the starter motor, the solenoid switch inside the starter motor may wear out during vehicle startup, leading to the generation of metal deposits. In such cases, the vehicle may not start smoothly or may not start at all. A short circuit in the solenoid switch can also cause localized overheating within the starter motor. This overheating may result in smoke or odors while driving or after exiting the vehicle, and in extremely rare cases, there is a possibility of fire. This recall is initiated due to the confirmation of such possibilities.
RemedyReplace with a new, problem-free starter motor.
