DefectAlternator Pulley: In the pulley with a clutch of the alternator on subject vehicles, due to insufficient consideration of the engine vibration, there is a possibility that pulley may wear out and damage when idling for a long time or driving at a specific engine speed. If the vehicle is continuously operated in this condition, abnormal noise could occur and charge warning light could illuminate, resulting in engine stall while driving in the worst case. NOT ALL VEHICLES IN THE MODEL YEARS ARE INVOLVED.
RemedyAs an owner of an involved vehicle, you will be contacted by registered letter requesting you to contact your nearest authorised Toyota Dealer to arrange a convenient time to have the repairs completed at no cost. Alternatively, contact Toyota's Customer Dialogue Centre to discuss.
