| Defect | This recall relates to a potential concern with the vehicle’s hydrogen gas storage system, in particular the Thermally Activated Pressure Relief Device ("TPRD"). The TPRD is designed to vent hydrogen gas through a glass bulb-type release mechanism that fractures when a specific tank temperature is exceeded. It’s been identified that overtime this glass bulb-type release mechanism could prematurely fracture due to microcracks in the glass, which could lead to inadvertent discharge of hydrogen gas during normal vehicle operation or while stationary. |
| Remedy | Hyundai New Zealand will directly contact customers with affected vehicles. |
