Model year2018-2024
DefectThe rear shock pre-load adjuster mounting tab installed on certain Model Year 2018-2024 Softail motorcycles manufactured between 24 January 2017 – 13 December 2024 (see below) may fracture under normal use, potentially allowing the rear shock adjuster to contact the rear tire. This condition presents a risk of a crash if contact between the rear shock adjuster and tire remains undetected and causes a sudden loss of tire pressure.
RemedyOwners of affected motorcycles should contact their nearest Harley-Davidson dealer to schedule an appointment to have their motorcycle inspected and, if it is affected, have a secondary bracket installed underneath the motorcycle’s rear shock absorber pre-load adjuster.
