DefectVehicle fires have occurred in some power supply units for electric motors where the control program of the Battery Energy Control Module was rewritten during recall work on July 26, Reiwa 5 (2023) with notification number 'Gai-3647' and December 14, Reiwa 5 (2023) with notification number 'Gai-3729'. Therefore, although the cause has not been identified, since power supply units of the same type may cause fires from the lithium-ion batteries within the battery pack assembly, as a precautionary measure, the control program will be rewritten for all vehicles.

RemedyFor all vehicles, as an interim measure, the control program of the Battery Energy Control Module will be rewritten to limit the maximum charging capacity to approximately 90%. A permanent countermeasure will be promptly implemented once the cause of the defect and the definitive solution are determined.
