DefectOn certain vehicles, the windshield may not have been sealed properly. As a result, water could leak into the passenger-side power distribution box and/or electronic control unit. If this happens, there could be a short circuit and/or the headlights may not work._x000D_ A short circuit can create the risk of a fire, even while the vehicle is parked and turned off. Headlights that don't work could reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash.

RemedyNone of the affected vehicles have been delivered to customers. BMW will instruct dealers to inspect and, if necessary, reseal the windshield. The dealer will also replace any damaged wiring and control units.
