DefectDue to improper manufacturing management of the ignition coil's high-tension cord, some units may have been fitted with incorrect parts. As a result, repeated bending during driving may cause cracks, and continued use could lead to a wire break, causing the engine to stop and become unable to restart. Furthermore, if the high-tension cord with cracks is exposed to water, ignition output may leak, damaging the vehicle speed sensor and throttle position sensor, which could result in incorrect vehicle speed display or starting difficulties.
ComponentElectrical system (Ignition coil)
RemedyFor all vehicles, inspect the ignition coil's high-tension cord. If an incorrect part is installed, replace the ignition coil (including the high-tension cord) with a genuine part. Additionally, if the vehicle speed sensor of the affected vehicle is damaged, replace it with a new one. If the throttle position sensor is damaged, replace the throttle body with a new one.
