DefectIn the diesel engine's exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) module, due to insufficient durability consideration, some units may leak coolant over time. In such cases, soot contained in the exhaust gas mixes with the coolant and accumulates inside the EGR module. The high-temperature deposits can then flow into and adhere to the intake manifold, potentially causing the intake manifold to melt and be damaged. In the worst case, this could lead to a fire.
ComponentEngine (Exhaust Gas Recirculation Module)
RemedyFor all vehicles, replace the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) module with an improved part. Additionally, inspect the condition of the intake manifold, and if damage is found, replace it with a new one.
