DefectIn the harness connected to the high-current fuse box of electric trucks, the waterproofing treatment using protective tape at the branch point is inadequate. If the protective tape is damaged, water may infiltrate the harness, leading to condensation inside the high-current fuse box. Consequently, if this condensation drips onto relays or other components inside the high-current fuse box, wetting the terminals, there is a risk of malfunctions such as the EV system ceasing to function, leading to a loss of propulsion.
ComponentElectrical system (electrical wiring)
RemedyFor all vehicles, add waterproof tape and a waterproof sheet to the harness branch point leading to the high-current fuse box. Additionally, inspect the relays, fuses, and harness terminals inside the box; repair or replace with new ones if corrosion or other damage is found, and remove any water if it has infiltrated the box.
