DefectIn the high-voltage battery cell modules of plug-in hybrid vehicles, due to improper equipment settings, some cell surfaces are uneven. As a result, a short circuit may occur inside the cell module while the battery is fully charged and parked, potentially leading to thermal battery abnormalities and, in the worst case, fire.
ComponentElectrical system (high-voltage battery)
RemedyAll vehicles will be inspected with a dedicated diagnostic tool. If replacement is necessary, the cell module will be replaced with a good one, and a countermeasure program equipped with a vehicle self-diagnosis function will be installed. Additionally, vehicle users will be notified not to perform external charging via plug-in until the vehicle is brought in for service.
