DefectDue to an improper piston shape in the brake master cylinder, when the brake auto-hold function (※1) and hill-start assist function (※2) are released, the piston may not return to its normal position, causing the brakes to drag. As a result, if the vehicle continues to be used in this condition, it may decelerate more than intended when the accelerator pedal is released. Additionally, there may be instances where the accelerator pedal is pressed down due to a lack of acceleration, and in the worst case, if the brake drag is resolved while driving, there is a risk of unintended acceleration.
ComponentBraking system (Brake master cylinder)
RemedyReplace the brake master cylinder with an improved part on all affected vehicles.
