DefectDue to improper tightening, some bolts fastening the upper and lower crankcases of the engine were tightened with excessive torque. As a result, proper oil clearance cannot be maintained between the crankshaft bearing and the crankshaft. In the worst case, the crankshaft bearing may seize, and the engine may stop while driving.

RemedyFor vehicles not yet driven, the crankcase fastening bolts will be tightened to the proper torque. For vehicles already driven, the crankshaft bearing will be inspected. If an abnormality is found, it will be repaired; if no abnormality is found, the crankcase fastening bolts will be tightened to the proper torque.
