DefectIn the holder attached to the steering controller of agricultural tractors, due to insufficient design against water ingress, water may enter the holder, causing rust to form on the spline connecting the shaft inside the holder to the steering controller. Additionally, due to insufficient design against vibration wear, the spline may wear out due to rust and vibration. Consequently, if use continues, the spline wear will progress, and in the worst case, the steering may spin freely, making steering operation impossible.
ComponentSteering system (Spline)
RemedyFor all vehicles, a sealing member will be added to the upper part of the holder as a measure against water ingress, and the shaft will be replaced with an improved part as a measure against vibration wear. Furthermore, peripheral parts including the steering controller will be inspected, and if peripheral parts are seized or the steering controller's spline shows abnormal wear, the relevant parts will be replaced with new ones. ※1 For replacement parts, refer to the diagram of improved areas.
