DefectIn lead-acid batteries, due to improper current management values for the inter-cell welds during manufacturing, the inter-cell welds may overheat and break due to the large current generated by engine restart when switching from motor driving to engine driving. As a result, electrical continuity within the battery may be lost, and in the worst case, when switching from motor driving to engine driving, the engine may fail to restart, leading to a loss of power and rendering the vehicle unable to drive.
ComponentElectrical system (lead-acid battery)
RemedyFor all vehicles, check the serial number of the lead-acid battery, and if the affected battery is used, replace it with a countermeasure part.
